Nice that you stopped by and got stuck here. Because then we have one thing in common: the love of life and traveling, and preferably in a different way.
Let me just do what I can do best on the blog - tell you a little story.
Even if many things change over the years of a life - places of residence, relationships, hair colors - there is something in my life that has been deeply rooted in me since I think. A constant quasi, that often mastered my thoughts and desires ... It is the thirst for adventure and the constant search for this one special moment.
I was born in 1986 in the deepest East Saxony, in the border triangle Germany / Czech Republic / Poland. At that time there was still the GDR, of which sinking I hardly noticed anything. I am eternally grateful for this upheaval, which now allows me a freedom that many at that time could only dream of. Because I love traveling and I want to see the many secluded corners of our world with my own eyes, they feel, smell and taste. Individually and on your own, barefoot and with flowers in your hair.
I've stopped saying things that are important to me in life. Because at some point is just another word for never .
Where does this urge for freedom come from? I dont know. He has always been there. As a kid, I spent some time on a family holiday and made myself comfortable in the neighboring bungalow. A few years later it was a huge adventure for me to walk alone in my home country. In the summer several nights followed in the tent in the garden, I caught fish with home-made fishing and built in the forest opposite wooden shacks. I was an outside child, often dirty and I do not want to miss any of these moments.
After graduation, the phase of being constantly filthy at puberty I eventually dropped out, I studied architecture at a small university. The profession is still a love-hate relationship, which has cost me some nerves in recent years. Not the soulless glass cases of our time are the objects of my desire, but the houses that tell us stories. Like the wooden hut in the Alps, which for decades has defied the harsh nature. Or the old villa, whose details represent an era of architecture that is one of my favorite.
Thanks to my wanderlust, I dreamed so much during the study and the infinite night shifts in the university at best in the distant future. So it happened that shortly afterwards I discovered my passion for road trips in Australia and rediscovered it for camping. With the mattress in the trunk and the backpack on the back seat on the roads of this world.
Meanwhile, I landed after some detours in the Allgäu, where I am allowed to share a large house with garden with my heart and dear friends. And from here now my Roadtrip- and Bergliebe fröne.
Since then I have traveled to several countries in the world. Whether on a solo road trip through the southwest of Australia, the north of Norway or the east of Iceland , with friends in a rental car through Morocco or with my heart man in the discovery of the slowness on the coast of France . My focus is always on nature, with coffee and tea around the campfire and jumps in ice-cold mountain lakes.
These are the moments that fascinate me every day. Mountains that make me speechless and, paradoxically, make you feel small and big at the same time. Places where you feel life and imagined problems seem tiny and unimportant.
Road trips are the epitome of freedom for me throughout my travels. At each intersection, I can decide anew where my path leads me. The dusty slopes, little traffic, are my favorite underground. So it can happen schonmal that I travel with an old Volvo through Israel or steer a heavy fire truck through Jordan . My home on wheels always there, then I camp under the stars and lonely bays.
For a little bit more freedom, I also bought some time ago a VW T5 van, which I convert into a camper van.
Meanwhile, there are so many stories that I want to tell you in text and image. The written word has a power for me like no other in the world. It can transport me to distant lands, to make me cry or make you laugh. Good stories kidnap me from everyday life into a world in which I cruise next to Huckleberry Finn on the Mississippi, drive next to Jack Kerouac through the USA or go to the storytellers in Morocco.
And that's exactly what take an adVANture is all about . For the stories and moments, high up in the mountains or down at the waves. Whether camping tips or road trips, facts or storytelling. From the conversion of my VW T5 van to campers to walks in the Australian mountains.
So, sit in the sun, grab some cool light and enjoy the ride through this blog!
